The Information Technology Center
The Information Technologies Center (ITC) of the Branch of the Russian State University of Oil and Gas (NRU) named after I.M.Gubkin in Tashkent city is a structural subdivision of the Branch.
The Center was established with the aim of implementing a unified policy in the field of informatization of the educational process, research and management system of the Branch, development, implementation and support of new information and communication technologies (ICTs) in the Branch.
In its activity the ITC of the Branch is guided by:
- laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan;
- Decrees and Orders of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan;
- Resolutions and Orders of the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan;
- Orders and regulations of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan, JSC “Uzbekneftegaz”, the Russian State University of Oil and Gas named after I.M. Gubkin, decisions of the Council of the Branch, orders of the director, deputy director - executive director of the Branch and other normative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan;
- collective agreements and other local acts of the Branch;
- regulations on the department.
The main aim of the Center is to provide branches, other departments and services of the Branch with a technological platform for informing the educational process on the basis of the information network of the Branch, modern computer multimedia systems. The Information Technologies Centre solves the problems of informatization within the Branch, including performing other activities in the field of providing information technology and resources for the educational process, scientific and administrative activities of the Branch, interuniversity activities in the field of information technologies and resources, and international activities in the field of information.
The ITC has the following main functions:
Development of mechanisms for the creation and implementation of information technologies in the educational process and other areas of the Branch’s activities, including the examination of proposals and projects of the Branch in the field of equipping with software and hardware and the introduction of information technologies.
Implementation of works on creation, introduction and maintenance of information and communication technologies for the purpose of information support of the educational process and management of the Branch.
Methodical support and technical support of the use of computer technology in the educational process at the branches of the Branch.
Creation of a technological platform and technical support for the work of the offices for the creation and deployment of a branch of electronic educational resources in the network.
Technological and methodological support of corporate information systems, including a distance learning system.
Creation and development of a single information network of the Branch and ensuring its integration into the national and international networks. Development of design solutions for the creation of local and remote computer networks for branches, divisions and services of the Branch, as well as its organization of the network infrastructure development.
Development and maintenance of software and hardware complexes of information servers of the Branch, organization of access to the information stored from the internal network and development and introduction of means for differentiating the rights of access to information.
Maintenance of operability and operation of hardware-software complexes of computer classes.
Maintenance of functioning of system of delivery of the plastic personified documents of students and employees of the Branch.
Methodical and technical support and organization of the system of professional development of teachers and employees of the Branch in the use of modern information technologies in the educational process and management activities.
Designing (together with interested departments and services), working out and development of the automated information system of the Branch, including the development of Internet and Intranet Web site software.
Development of multimedia presentations, prototyping and small-circulation printing of presentation materials.
Organization of copying educational materials.
Creation of repairing base of computer facilities, network communications and communication equipment, organization of repair of computer facilities, as well as analysis and testing of computer systems and networks.
